6 Must-Watch Movies Leaving Netflix in August 2024

Sadly, certain films departing Netflix in August 2024—including The Edge of Seventeen starring Hailee Steinfeld—are best left behind.

Usually at the end of each month, there are a few films that leave Netflix and find their way to another streaming service or cable network. There are many films in August that I believe people will be particularly disappointed about leaving Netflix.

We compiled a list of six decent films departing Netflix in August, including an action film starring Ben Affleck, a guy most likely going through something right now.

The Accountant

Less time exists for seeing The Accountant than among any other movie on the list! You have to see the film this week because the accountant starring Ben Affleck exits Netflix on Monday, Aug. 26.

The accountant relates the tale of a -- you got it! -- accountant who deals with criminal enterprises to bring their business operations up to code. Affleck plays Christian, the stated accountant who starts working for an enigmatic business covering a significant secret.

I really suggest this movie if you haven't watched yet! This is a great narrative with a fantastic ensemble. Along with Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J. K. Simmons, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jon Bernthal feature in the picture.

The Edge of Seventeen

Hey, I don't want to commit a lot of your time, but The Edge of Seventeen is leaving Netflix at the end of the month and you really should see it before it departs. One of my favorite adolescent films from the last ten years, it's constantly showing up and departing Netflix not too long thereafter.

Hailee Steinfeld plays Nadine, a young child coping with trauma, a teen struggling to fit the expectations, lifestyle, and awkward portions of high school, being a kid, and more. When Nadine learns her closest friend is now romantically drawn in her brother, things change. Seemingly alone, Nadine searches for her path.

Pineapple Express

Although almost no one will find this shocking, Pineapple Express is among all-time favorite films. Though you have time to see the fantastic comedy from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg on Netflix before it shuts at the end of the month, I know something is wrong with me.

Rogen's character, Dale Denton, Pineapple Express chronicles his life delivering pizzas for a livelihood. Dale sees a police officer murdered while attempting to serve a subpoena. After being caught up in a drug battle amongst marijuana distributors in California, Dale and his drug supplier, Sal, portrayed by James Franco, must flee.

Spider-Man

At the end of the month, Spider-Man starring Tobey Maguire and under direction by Sam Raimi is departing Netflix. You have limited time if you want to see Peter Parker oppose the Green Goblin in order to preserve New York City. Aug. 31 is the final day the movie appears on Netflix.

And we also have some more terrible news for Spider-Man aficionados. Apart from Spider-Man quitting Netflix, that day also sees the departure of the other Spider-Man films from Netflix. Though The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 starring Andrew Garfield is also departing that day, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 leave Netflix on Aug. 31.

Burn After Reading

Should one like the Coen brothers, we have some unfortunate news for you! Burn After Reading is departing Aug. 31 from Netflix. Apart from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, a Netflix original film, I think this is the only Coen brothers film available on Netflix right now.

Burn After Reading boasts MOVIE STAR. Richard Jenkins, Tilda Swinton, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Frances McDormand, John Malkowicz. Joel and Ethan Coen wrote and directed the movie, which debuted in cinemas in 2008. Burn After Reading relates the tale of two gym employees. They strive to maximize the circumstances after they discover what they believe to be secret CIA official papers. Does it go according plan? You will have to investigate yourself!

Beverly Hills Cop

You have limited time to Netflix see the Beverly Hills Cop franchise! On September 3 Beverly Hills Cop is departing Netflix. Although it's not August, I felt it was sufficient enough to include on the list.

Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley is followed while he investigates a murder in Beverly Hills. In July 2024, Netflix recently released the fourth Beverly Hills Cop film, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. Right present, Netflix shows all four Beverly Hills Cop films; however, this is just temporary.
