Premiering on October 15 on Netflix
Spoilers
We're moving towards the season three premiere of You on October 15th on Netflix. The thriller – which premiered on Lifetime before being purchased by Netflix – began the second season with Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) just after the season one cliffhanger. In its final scene, the show deliberately led viewers to believe that Joe had killed Candace Stone (Ambyr Childers) - a reasonable assumption given his behavior - only to have that belief flipped on its head when she appeared to confront him. It took the You protagonist not only fleeing from Candace (much to the dismay of the real Will Bettelheim), but also trying to get away from his girlfriend Guinevere Beck and Peach Salinger. Joe/Will was on a mission to prove that he was capable of redeeming himself, as well as finding a new job at another book shop. The reason for this was that he had set his sights on an unfamiliar love interest, subtly named Love Quinn (The Haunting of Hill House's Victoria Pedretti). After a shocking turn of events, Love, still in love with the show's lead, murdered Candace and Delilah (Carmela Zumbado) in order to save their relationship. Pedretti told Glamour about the twist: "It sparked a question: what is driving this? I cannot judge anyone else other than the character." This character has to be mine. I must determine what is the justification for this. Is this person just a psychopath straight up, or does this person have some other explanation? I do not believe killing people should be justified under any circumstance. The value of life must always be protected. That's me, but that's not her. I believe she does that as a necessary action to protect the man and child she loves. "It's the mother's duty to do whatever it takes for her children. Her child could have a nice life without their psychopath father. But she was motivated by love and the expectation she has for her family." The two seasons that followed showed us Joe's (damned) soulmate, but it didn't lead to a happy ending. "It's a very complicated relationship," Badgley said in an interview to ET. Basically, Love and Joe are the perfect couple since she wants someone to see her the way he wants to see her, and vice versa. Both love being seen, but now that I understand why Love is the way she is, and who she truly is, I see there isn't a perfect match. We think they'd be together if she had not found the box. We do not allow people like Joe to receive what they are seeking because they want the impossible. When we meet Love, we automatically assume, "Oh yeah, well of course. Did he find his soulmate?."You season 3 plot
Here is a synopsis of the official trailer: Now married with a child, the couple lives in a Northern California suburb called Madre Linda, which is packed with privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers, and famous biohackers. In his new role as a husband and father, Joe tries to be selfless, but is wary of Love's impulsive nature. His heart, too, is a bit impulsive. Maybe the woman he has been searching for all this time lives right next door? Yet what about the prison of a picture-perfect marriage to someone who knows your tricks? That'll be much harder to escape." There is nothing to complain about in the episodes. The performances are unbelievable," Sera Gamble tweeted. Caroline Kepnes, the author of the books on which the Netflix series is based, explained the differences between the Netflix series and its original source material. It will be similar to the events in the book, like Joe living in the same place as he does in the book. There will be changes because Love became the killer, I am certain that also altered things dramatically." "As for spoilers, I will not reveal them, but there will be differences." In addition to the news that Kepnes is writing a fourth book, she revealed Joe is going to experience a dream he didn't allow himself to have in upcoming episodes: "It will be something he will actually enjoy." Gamble believes however that Joe's luck may yet run out one day despite landing on his feet yet again. She explained that the most important thing about the last scene is that it just confirms that Joe is Joe in a way that is not going to be great for him. As long as Joe doesn't learn that he can't just keep looking for the next person to attach his hopes and dreams to, things won't get better for him."You Season 3 Cast
