Pretty Smart Season 1 was released on Friday. And it is a bright ray of sunshine among the slasher killers and murder documentaries! Claire and her friends/ roommates are awaiting the arrival of Claire's sister Chelsea. Claire is a sweet, pretty, and naive girl. Dean owns a gym and is pretty much our resident Joey. Sweet, a little slow but well-intentioned. Jayden is a social media influencer. And Solana is an ex-lawyer who now works as a Healer. Chelsea arrives intending to live with Claire for a few days till her boyfriend comes and picks her up. But on the same day, she gets dumped by her boyfriend and gets all her stuff in a box. In disappointment, she and Claire fight, and Claire storms off after rightly pointing out to Chelsea that with all her Harvard degree and sophisticated English Chelsea is the one without a job or friends or even a place to stay. After a quickly arrived realisation, Chelsea realises that what Claire said was true and makes amends with her sister explaining the reason she grew apart from Claire was to protect her from their parents' messy divorce. After all the sister-ly drama Chelsea, Claire, and all her friends live as one big happy family. Chelsea soon warms up to the others and drops her facade ( Like when she confesses to Dean about social media being her guilty pleasure and that she is a huge fan of Jayden). They help her in realising the importance of friendship, happiness and even in breaking out of her writer's block. Pretty Smart is funny and emotional. Even though sometimes the humour seems forced it still forces you to smile because of how endearing the characters are. Overall, even though Pretty Smart is not perfect, it will be a crime to deprive yourself of the joy watching this can give you! Watch this to escape the dark and gloomy October theme! By SB
