Anatomy Of A Scandal

Anatomy of a Scandal premiered on Netflix on April 15, 2022, based on the Sarah Vaughan novel of the same name. This series is a British anthology. The story follows Sophie Whitehouse (Sienna Miller), whose world is turned upside down when her handsome and successful politician husband, James (Rupert Friend), confesses to having had an affair with a young administrative assistant. James is then hit with another bombshell: the woman he had an affair with, Olivia (Naomi Scott), accuses him of rape. While Anatomy of a Scandal begins with a discussion of consent, it moves on to talk about privilege. There isn't much to upset anyone, but just enough to get you thinking briefly about the injustice of it all. While the cast is great, the formula is easy to whip up, and enough breadcrumbs are laid down that the show seems like it's going somewhere, it ultimately just... exists. Most beautiful, wealthy people frown and fret as they acknowledge that justice rarely prevails in cases of sexual assault (with the exception of one). The characters should have received more justice.

Business Proposal

As The latest Korean drama to appear on Netflix, Business Proposal takes the classic rom-com and amplifies it by combining a number of genres. As food researcher Shin Ha-ri (Kim Se-jeong of The Uncanny Counter and I.O.I) gets involved in a fake dating scheme with Kang Tae-moo (Ahn Hyo-Seop), the president of her company, the show follows their story. Similarly, Ha-ri and Jin Young-seo (Seol In-ah), as well as Tae-moo's secretary Cha Sung-hoon (Kim Min-kyu), share a swoon-worthy scene and a steamy kiss (which you will watch over and over). A drama that includes so many romance tropes is so impressive that it deserves closer examination for knowing when to embrace them and when to subvert them.

All of us are dead

A streaming television series about a coming-of-age zombie apocalypse in South Korea. Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, Lomon, Yoo In-soo, Lee Yoo-mi, Kim Byung-Chul, Lee Kyu-Hyung, and Jeon Bae-soo star in it. The zombie survival story All of Us Are Dead is clever and effective. There is an outbreak of a zombie virus at a high school in South Korea, leading a group of students to become trapped. In order to survive, they must use everything at their disposal. The show's characters include Nam On-jo (Park Ji-hu), whose father is a firefighter and taught her survival skills; Lee Cheong-san (Yoon Chan-young), On-jo's childhood friend who has a thing for her; and Choi Nam-Ra (Cho Yi-yun), the class president. One of the best things about All of Us Are Dead is that it's a thrilling zombie drama, but it's also a story about high schoolers. There is drama as big, if not bigger, than the apocalypse playing out around them. This distinguishes the show from the other zombie fare out there and adds to its freshness. It is also possible to think of the zombie virus outbreak as a Covid metaphor (not in an off-putting way).
